Operational & Capital Budget |
|
On April 27th, 2009 the Town of Castor approved the operational and
capital budget for 2009. Total operational expenditures for 2009 is
estimated at $3,363,044.00. Capital budget has been set at
$1,594,755.00. Some of the capital projects are contingent
on approval from grant applications. One of the capital
projects calls for the rehabilitation of 4 blocks of watermain on 51st
Street, 52nd Street, and 51st Ave. The total cost is
estimated at $577,750.00. The Federal and Provincial
Government contribution if the grant is approved would be 1/3 each.
The final work on the two residential subdivisions will be completed at
a cost of $388,000.00. Other capital projects include
renovations to the Fire Hall/Ambulance Building, Equipment Purchases,
Doctor Housing, as well as recreation equipment.
The Town of Castor total line assessment increase from 2008 which has
resulted in the lowering of the mill rates. The 2007 and
2008 increase in construction and the housing market created the change
in the assessment. Most residence and businesses will not
see any major change in property tax from 2008 unless they had a major
renovation or addition to their buildings. |
